For the correct use of lacquered and anodized aluminum, elaborated by the ASELAC committee and the MOPT laboratory.

  • The protection or sealing should be very rigorous when the buildings are near the sea, since a saline environment, and in some cases, the direct action of sea water, can accelerate a certain type of corrosion.

  • Periodically clean the lacquered aluminum. The frequency will depend on the atmosphere in which the construction is located although, in any case, it should be done at least once a year.

  • Aluval recommends cleaning with Aluprot, a product created exclusively by Aluval, using a sponge, leather cloth or damp cloth, avoiding the presence of any element that may scratch the finish (sand in the water, dust, etc.).

  • Do not use aggressive cleaning products. Do not use abrasive materials, organic solvents or detergents whose chemical composition is unknown.

  • Do not submit the pieces to heat, by friction or cutting, above 70 degrees Celsius.

  • Do not expose the pieces to the attack of chemical products, be they vapors or liquids, or aggressive industrial gases, as they may damage the finish.

  • Ensure the non-aggressiveness of the solvents that can be found in the putties used for the placement of crystals.

  • If you anticipate that the tightening torque applied can destroy the zinc layer, use plastic plugs.

  • Avoid scratches caused by improper handling or defective storage or transportation during the movements on site of the elements thereof.

  • Avoid mechanical impacts or abrasion efforts.

  • Do not assemble parts that are not adequately protected (sealed) after cutting, sawing, drilling or performing any other mechanical operation. Special care must be taken with the sealing of miter, joining joints and profile assemblies.

  • With regard to cutting tools, do not use the same disk that has been used to cut other materials, since between the teeth can subtract remnants of them (iron, steel, etc) that can damage the lacquer.

  • Avoid the appearance of galvanic batteries due to the use at the same time of anchoring materials other than aluminum, such as rivets, brackets, subframes, supports, etc., made of different materials. Stainless steel or aluminum screws are recommended.

  • Assemble the clamping elements with plastic sleeves or studs when they are made of steel. That said elements are galvanized conveniently.

  • Avoid contact of cement mortars with aluminum. Use plaster paste in the plaster of the joint of a frame with the work.

  • The best fit is on wood or aluminum pre-frame.

 General notes

Aluval, S.L. reserves the right to modify profiles, series or other technical data according to the commercial needs of the market.

  • All the profiles included in this catalog are extruded in the alloy 6063 .

  • The dimensions of the profiles in this catalog are theoretical. Both dimensions and thicknesses may vary according to U.N.E standards. that govern the extrusion tolerances.

  • The lengths of the profiles are, as a rule of 6 meters or 6.4 meters . The special measures will suffer an increase of 10% in the price.

  • The cutting measures indicated in this catalog are correct, but it must be taken into account that the profiles have tolerances in the extrusion (Standard UNE 38.066-89) and that in practice the fittings of different manufacturers or the technique of the locksmith make these measures may have some variation.

  • Not all the profiles included in this catalog are available in our warehouses for immediate delivery . Consult with our representative or the warehouse in your area.

  • Some profiles included in this catalog are intended for complete works. For these profiles consult deadlines and minimum quantities.
