Aluval and Hyperloop UPV join forces in the competition to revolutionize the transport of the future

Aluval, a leading company in the aluminum sector, and Hyperloop UPV have announced their collaboration to jointly participate in the European Hyperloop Week, a competition that promises to revolutionize the transport of the future and is held in Edinburgh from July 17 to 23 . During that week, the team from the Polytechnic University of Valencia will be demonstrating the progress made during the last year and competing against other teams from all over the world to achieve victory in an event that promises to change the history of hyperloop.

The UPV team already has eight generations in its history, year after year new vehicles have been developed, currently with 6 units that have evolved, Kénos being the vehicle that they are going to present at this edition. In addition, they have also presented Atlas, their own impressive infrastructure.

“Every academic year, from September to June, we strive to develop a new vehicle, always with the goal of improving and perfecting hyperloop technologies. This year, we are introducing an unprecedented innovation: Kénos is the first vehicle capable of levitating and idling in motorsport history, representing a significant milestone for hyperloop.” Explains Beatriz Espinar member of the UPV team.

In terms of technology, from Hyperloop UPV they have incorporated a double linear induction motor, which interacts with an aluminum inverted T-rail at the base of the tube. This configuration, which they have used for three consecutive years, set a precedent in Spain in 2020 by being the first engine of its kind to be used in the country.

“Aluval has always opted for innovation throughout its more than 50 years of existence. When we found out that this group of boys and girls wanted to improve the transport sector, we didn't think twice and decided to collaborate with them. The dedication and dedication they have to achieve their objectives is worthy of admiration" explain David Ballena and Enrique Marco de Aluval

From the Valencian company they add "We hope that the results in the competition are as expected, from Aluval we will be with them, giving them all the support and experience so that their dreams continue to come true"
